Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a gentle complimentary therapeutic method for stress reduction, deep relaxation1. It is given through the hands of a trained Reiki practitioner.
Over 800 hospitals across the U.S., and many more worldwide, offer Reiki because it may be effective for pain and anxiety1.
In a Reiki session, the practitioner channels Reiki through her body and hands to the person receiving the treatment. The therapist’s hands are placed in positions within a few inches of the recipient’s body. As Reiki circulates, the recipient often experiences a release of tension*. During the session, the client remains fully clothed. Reiki is not massage, but best known as energy work.
Reiki is completely safe & people describe it as warm, peaceful, relaxing, nurturing and energizing. Hospitals that have been studying Reiki https://hartfordhospital.org/services/integrative-medicine/patient-support/research have found it may be effective for pain and anxiety1.
I offer Reiki as an option to my Ultherapy clients because I have found it useful in reducing anxiety before treatment or discomfort during Ultherapy treatment.
